A 38-year-old farmer, Otwea Amokua. has allegedly shot his 45-year-old girlfriend at Breman Nkonya in the Central Region over housekeeping money (chop money).
It is reported that a misunderstanding ensued between the suspect and the victim on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, after the lady complained about the meagre amount provided by Otwea.
Reports suggest the lady has been complaining about the issue for a long time.
The two are said to constantly engage in a fight any time the issue comes up.
Information gathered indicates that on Monday, May 15, 2023, Otwea bought a new double-barrel gun with some bullets and showed it to his friend, telling him he’ll use it to kill his girlfriend and six other tenants who have been disturbing him with money issues.
On Tuesday evening, Otwea reportedly stormed the victim’s house and shot her, leaving her in a pool of blood.
He later fled the town after the heinous crime.
The victim was rushed to Our Lady Of Grace Government Hospital at Breman Asikuma in critical condition but was transferred to Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The gun and bullets have been retrieved and handed over to the Breman Asikuma Police, who have mounted a search for the suspect.
