A security man has allegedly assaulted a female patient at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
The woman, Salamatu Ali, reportedly went to the health facility for delivery through a cesarean section and was discharged on Monday, May 1.
She was said to have stepped out of the ward to pay her bills on the same day, but the security man refused her entry into the premises when she returned to the hospital.
According to eyewitnesses, the security man assaulted her when she tried to enter against his wish.
The victim’s sister, who was there to help due to her weakness, tried to confront the security man and was beaten up.
Another woman filming the video was assaulted at the health facility.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Aliu Zuberu, says the issue has come to their attention, and management is investigating.
He assured the public that the culprit would be duly punished if found guilty.
“We have been informed of that situation. Management has quickly moved in, and we are in a meeting at the moment looking at what transpired.
“Beyond that, we would definitely want to have an investigative report, and if it comes out that the security did something wrong, every punishment legally will be given to him,” Mr Zuberu said in an interview on Accra-based Joy News.
Meanwhile, the case has been reported to the police for further investigation.
