A Switzerland-based Ghanaian, identified as Mr Andrew, has been found dead in his room at Two Streams, a suburb of Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
According to the residents, Mr Andrew, who is suspected to be in his mid-60s, returned to Ghana about six months ago.
They mentioned that he was quite popular in the area due to his rapport with the youth.
Some residents told reporters that just a few days before his death, he had informed them that he was going to return to his family in Switzerland the following weekend.
They reported that a relative had sent Mr Andrew’s belongings to his extended family in the Central region a few days earlier.
He was, however, discovered hanging dead from a rope tied to the door frame of his rented room with his legs touching the ground.
They added that the body was found neatly dressed in a suit and shoes, with glasses adorning his face.

The police have since taken the body to a morgue and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Meanwhile, the community is reeling from the shock and several speculations.
Previous incidents
A Takoradi-based television presenter, Michael Osei, also known as Nana Yaw Osei Tenkorang, was found dead in his room in the Western Regional capital.
On Monday, February 5, 2024, Nana Yaw Osei Tenkorang didn’t show up. Calls to him went unanswered, which was not characteristic of him; hence, some people decided to check up on him at his residence.
His room was eventually opened with the help of others, only to find him unresponsive on his bed.
He was then rushed to the hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.
Another young man believed to be in his early 30s, Yaw Christopher, popularly called Chris, was also found dead in his room at Dabiasem, a suburb of New Juaben North municipality of the Eastern region.
The incident happened on Wednesday, November 8.
Residents of Dabiasem were gripped with fear upon the discovery of Christopher’s lifeless body in his room at about 10 a.m.
The deceased, they said, had been in his room throughout the previous afternoon, showing no visible sign of depression.
