The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has warned the public about a false message circulating on social media that claims the government has introduced a GH¢1,350 National Family Support Allowance.
In a statement released on Thursday, January 8, 2026, the Ministry clarified that it has not introduced any programme called the “National Family Support Allowance”.
It also stated that no registration has been opened for such a payment under the instruction of President John Mahama or the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey.
The Ministry emphasized that the information being shared is untrue and misleading, noting that there is no social protection programme under its authority that offers GH¢1,350 over a three-month period.
It further cautioned that the website link circulating with the message is not an official Government of Ghana or MoGCSP platform.
According to the Ministry, all genuine social protection programmes are announced only through official government channels, such as press releases, press conferences, the Ministry’s official website, and accredited media outlets.
The MoGCSP has therefore urged the public to ignore the message completely and refrain from clicking on the link or providing any personal information, as it may be part of a scam aimed at deceiving unsuspecting individuals.
For accurate and up-to-date information on government social protection programmes, the Ministry urged the public to rely on its official website, www.mogcsp.gov.gh, and its verified social media pages on Facebook, Instagram and X.
