
The Government of Ghana has announced that Constitution Day, which falls on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, will be observed as a public holiday on Friday, January 9, 2026, instead.
This decision was made by the President of the Republic of Ghana, in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601), as amended.
The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubaraka, made the announcement, stating that the public should observe Friday, January 9, 2026, as a public holiday throughout the country.
