
The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has come under heavy scrutiny on social media after pictures and videos of the new airport signage went viral.
It may be recalled that the government recently changed the name of the airport from Kotoka International Airport to Accra International Airport.
Following the rebrand, the new signage was officially unveiled on March 20, 2026.

In a series of videos and images circulating online, netizens have expressed disappointment in the government and GACL over the installation of the new signage.
According to a section of social media users, the failure to properly remove or repaint old markings before installing the new signage is disrespectful and embarrassing for the country.
