Founder and leader of the Alabaster International Ministries, Prophet Kofi Oduro, has reiterated his strong opposition to LGBTQ+ activities in Ghana.
Speaking to his congregants on April 5, 2026, the outspoken preacher said he has consistently maintained his opposition even before the current government assumed office.
He added that he had sent a clear message to the seat of government, Jubilee House, stressing that LGBTQ+ practices would never be accepted in the country.
‘What do Ghanaians gain if LGBTQ+ becomes top priority?’ – Rev Bansah
“Four weeks ago, at Alabaster City at the F5 service, I looked in the camera and told the Jubilee House even before our president went on his trip, and I said no matter who is in government, LGBTG+ will never be accepted in our country. I don’t care who is in the Jubilee House,” he said.
Prophet Oduro further referenced the period under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, stating that he had consistently made similar pronouncements.
The preacher said that the LGBTQ+ will never be accepted in the country.
“That particular bill, during His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo we screamed on this altar, and we told the Jubilee House, Ghana will never be an LGBTQ+ nation and I’m saying to you, your excellency [John Dramani Mahama] with all honour, respect, but without fear, or favour, or intimidation, we will never accept LGBT. Never!” he emphasised on his stance.
He stressed that the issue remains a key priority for him and his ministry, warning that they would not hesitate to take action if necessary.
“Your excellency, I just want to remind you. Sir, it was a priority then, and it’s a priority now. It’s a priority, your excellency. If we need to march to the Jubilee House, we will march.
“If we need to scream, we will scream. If we need to yell, we will yell. Sin is sin. Righteousness is righteousness. Disorder is disorder. Evil is evil. Abomination is abomination,” he indicated.
Touching on leadership and public backlash, he said standing for truth often comes at a cost, citing the recent cancellation of an honorary degree to the president by Lincoln University.
“Your excellency, when you make a Stanford trip, people will hate you. I know that trip. When they canceled that university thing, you felt it and that is the price you pay for [speaking the] truth. Ghanaians hate me but I don’t care about them. I defend the God and his word,” he added.
He maintained that his stance is rooted in his religious beliefs and convictions.
He added that he voted for the government solely because of their campaign promise to pass the anti-LGBTQ+ legislation currently in Parliament.
“I defend the God of the Bible and his word. I would die for this cause, your excellency. You will stand for truth and integrity. It’s not a priority? With all due respect, sir, it was in your campaign message. Me, the reason I voted for you is the Anti-LGBTQ+ that you assured you will pass a legislation on,” he said.
Mahama on why LGBTQ+ bill is currently not Ghana’s top priority
He has also called on President John Dramani Mahama to prioritise the recovery of state funds under the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative.
“Number two is ORAL. We need our money back. We can’t be patient, your excellency. We need our money back,” he stated.
