Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo and Ernest Brogya Genfi
President John Dramani Mahama has made further changes to his government, reassigning two ministers and a deputy minister in the latest ministerial shake-up.
The changes, announced yesterday in a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister of Government Communications, take immediate effect.
Under the new arrangement, Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo has been reassigned from the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Job Creation to serve as Minister of State for Special Initiatives.
He will be replaced at the Labour Ministry by Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, who becomes the new Minister for Labour, Employment and Job Creation.
The Presidency did not immediately provide details on the specific responsibilities that Mr. Pelpuo will assume under his new portfolio.
In another change, Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, has been reassigned to serve as Presidential Advisor on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness.
The latest changes add to President Mahama’s ongoing efforts to realign his administration and place officials in positions considered critical to the government’s agenda.
The Presidency, however, did not give reasons for the latest reassignments.
