Actress and showbiz icon, Nana Ama McBrown has been making headlines since March when she announced that she has joined Media General’s Onua TV.
Since then, the celebrated screen goddess who cut her teeth as a TV presenter as host of UTV’s United Showbiz set her fans and TV audiences on edge with what new thing she was bringing to her new home.
And perhaps, the expectations were overly lived when McBrown premiered her Onua Showtime on Sunday, April 30.
Even before the main launch in Sunday, the actress got social media talking with a video advertising the upcoming TV programme last week.
And truthfully, social media couldn’t get enough of McBrown when she pulled many views on Facebook and Twitter few minutes into the airing of the programme.
It was pure show of love from social media commentators and her fans who posted their opinions about the new TV show which many expect to bring huge viewership to Onua TV.
A number of the comments praised McBrown’s charisma and versatility.
Popular music engineer and producer, Fred Kyei Mensah wrote, “Onua Showtime, so far so good. Distinctively interactive. Great pictures on tv. Review coming soon”.
Journalist Stephen Anti shared this view, “Onua TV took a deep dive into the tough terrain of live studio audience with Nana Ama McBrown. In just the first hour.
From Don Mallam Paino, “Official Nana Macbrown❤️ (Real fans🔥 of BRIMMM)💯 is peerless”.
Veronica Zormelo Attah had this to say, “Wow this show is Dope 👌…. I am enjoying myself.. Please where is the popcorn 🍿 😋🤸 #OnuaTV, #onuashowtime”.

But it was not all praises as some social media commentators had their reservations.
This was the view of Nana Koo Nti on Facebook, “Am I the only who thinks the show is boring and unnecessarily packed? Set is okay but looks bebree…as for Facebook views de3, y3n nyinaa nim de3 efiri…”.
In the first episode, McBrown interviewed the likes of award-winning Gospel musician, MOG, VGMA New Artiste nominee, Ewura Abena ,Yaw Tog, Fameye, Dope Nation, King Promise, comedian OB Amponsah.
