A 39-year-old woman who was stabbed to death in West London has been named for the first time. The body of Xiaoqing Ke was found inside an address on Old Brompton Road, Earl’s Court, at around 11.15am on Wednesday, December 10.
Officers made the sad discovery whilst carrying out a welfare check prompted by a concerning call to 999. Miss Ke was a Chinese national, and her family, who live in China, are being supported by police.
A 23-year-old man has been charged with her murder, the Metropolitan Police said. Deepak Sandhu, of Newlands Avenue, Southampton, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today (Monday, December 15).
A second man, aged 47, was arrested in relation to the investigation and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts remain with Xiaoqing’s family at this incredibly difficult time. While a man has now been charged, our investigation continues, and we urge anyone with information who has not yet spoken to us to come forward.”
A cordon remained in place on Old Brompton Road into Thursday afternoon, with residents told to expect an increased police presence.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 2689/10DEC25. Anonymous reports can be made to Crimestoppers via 0800 111 555 or the charity’s website.
