Reverend Takal Mordecai of Petra International Church, Adenta, has advised female congregants of his church not to marry men who give offerings of less than GH¢20.
In a video making rounds on social media, Reverend Takal Mordecai explained that men who give GH¢10 or GH¢20 as offering in church are not ready for marriage, describing them as stingy.
“Any boy who gives offering GH¢10, GH¢20 is not ready for marriage. His finances are zero; don’t marry him,” he said.
The man of God further argued that if such men are stingy towards God in their giving, it raises concerns about how they would treat a woman in marriage, especially when they are unable to honour their Creator with generosity.

“If a man can be stingy with God, is he you? Some of you don’t accept reality. A guy who cannot thank God, you think he will appreciate you? He doesn’t appreciate God; will he appreciate you?” he asked.
According to him, genuine love is usually expressed through giving, drawing reference from the Bible where God demonstrated love by giving His only begotten Son.
He also stressed that excuses about not having enough money should not be used, adding that giving does not necessarily have to be expensive.
“For God so love the world, he gave. Nobody will say he loves you without giving you. Anything that loves you gives to you. Once I heard he doesn’t have, gift doesn’t need to be expensive,” he added.
