A youth-based Christian group, Youth in Action for Christ Ministries, is calling on Parliament to fast-track the passage of the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, citing what it describes as growing moral concerns among young people.

In a press release dated April 15, 2026, the group said it was speaking out “with a deep sense of concern and urgency,” urging lawmakers to prioritise the bill and avoid politicising the debate around it.

The organisation, which describes itself as a faith-driven movement focused on spiritual growth, moral advocacy, and community impact, said it believes the discussion around the bill should be handled with careful thought rather than partisan considerations.

“As youths, we urge leaders of the nation to approach matters relating to the Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and the Ghanaian Family Values Bill with critical thinking, rather than political bias,” the statement said.

According to the group, turning the issue into a political contest risks deepening divisions and distracting from what it sees as a more meaningful national conversation.

The group also appealed directly to the president to demonstrate commitment to the youth by assenting to the bill once it is passed by Parliament.

“To demonstrate his commitment to the next generation not only in words, but through urgent and tangible action, we appeal to the President of the nation to do the youth a favour by signing the bill when it is passed,” it added.

Youth in Action for Christ further encouraged young people across the country to remain engaged spiritually and socially, urging them to pray for national unity and moral direction.

“We ask all the youth to pray for our nation, that righteousness, peace, and truth will prevail, and that all people will come to the knowledge of God’s will,” the statement noted.
