
The Ministry of the Interior has deployed emergency response teams to flood-affected areas across in southern Ghana following the rains which has disrupted activities on Monday morning.Ghanaian News Portal
The Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Armed Forces, National Disaster Management Organisation, and other emergency services have been mobilised to monitor the situation, assist affected persons, manage traffic, and undertake rescue operations where required.
According to the Ministry, the deployment is part of precautionary public safety measures to protect lives and property as flooding continues to affect several parts of the country.
Residents in flood-prone communities have been advised to move to higher ground where it is safe to do so and to report emergencies or persons in distress to the nearest security agency or emergency response service.
The Ministry urged the public to cooperate with security and emergency personnel and to rely only on official channels for information and updates. Those in need of emergency assistance are encouraged to contact the relevant emergency services.
There is also an advise and alert for people to exercise extreme caution and remain in safe locations following the rains.

Those safely at home are urged to stay home, while those at workplaces or other safe locations should remain there until it is safe to travel. Unnecessary movement should be avoided.
Motorists and pedestrians are strongly advised not to attempt to drive or walk through flooded roads, bridges, or waterways, as floodwaters can rise rapidly and pose significant danger to life and property.
