The driver of an OA bus has been injured after he was shot in a robbery attack on the Techiman-Kintampo highway.
The bus was travelling from Kumasi to Burkina Faso when the armed men attacked at Jema around 12am on Thursday, January 19.
Mohammed Ibrahim, the driver, who managed to narrate the incident said the robbers were four in number.
He said they started shooting sporadically into the bus immediately after they stopped the bus.
He added that he fled for his safety after he was shot multiple times in his arm, while the robbers took over the bus.
Other passengers sustained injuries from the shattered windows, and other visibly shaken passengers had their items stolen.
The police were alerted, but the robbers were gone before the officers arrived.
Meanwhile, the driver and other injured passengers were rushed to the Wenchi Methodist Hospital for treatment.
With the exception of the driver who sustained gunshot wounds, the other victims have been treated and discharged.
