Ghanaian actor Majid Michel has sadly revealed how he lost his real voice through a near-fatal accident that happened to him some years ago on the Kanda-Osu road in Accra.
The actor in previous interviews noted that he lost his natural voice as a result of frequent arguments with colleagues over issues.
Majid in revealing the real reason behind his voice loss said the sad incident happened in just one night when he was returning from Champs [Hotel] and two cars nearly crashed his car which made him scream.
Majid explained that right after the incident, he started experiencing breaks in his voice, and ever since, he has not recovered from that to gain his natural voice.
Majid also said months after the accident, he was traveling and when he got to the airport he started speaking in falsetto because it was more comfortable speaking like that than having his voice oscillate between the low and high pitches.
He said the low tone of his voice has not waned, but because it takes air to power the vocal cords, it appears he does not get enough air to help him to speak.
The award-winning actor added that due to his voice loss, he doesn’t accept long movie scripts anymore but he has not stopped acting as some people have alleged.
Majid who starred in Yvonne Nelson’s ‘Kotoka’ movie, also featured in movies such as Somewhere in Africa’, ‘Crime to Christ’, ‘4Play’, ‘Chelsea’,’ Hearts Of Men’ and others.
