A statement from the commission said, “investigation is ongoing to unravel the people behind the attempted export.”
Meanwhile, the commission is cautioning those involved in the act to desist from such activities since they will be prosecuted if found guilty.
This comes after NACOC seized some suspected narcotic drugs concealed in coffee powder packets in Accra in December 2022.
Five brown Ghana Post branded boxes containing 150 packets of coffee labelled “Café Naijar Classic”, all destined for the United Arab Emirates, were discovered by officials of NACOC at the Central Post Office.
A statement from NACOC said the 150 packets contained 93,600 tablets with an estimated street value of US$ 1.4 Million.
It said a field test on the tablets proved positive for Amphetamine, a narcotic drug.
