The father of a 17-year-old student of KIKAM Technical Institute in the Western Region is demanding answers and justice following the death of his son, Bernard Nyanzu, who allegedly died after being electrocuted while working outside the school.
Bernard, a student of the technical institute, reportedly left campus after being granted permission by school authorities to assist an electrician with some work.
What was expected to be a routine learning experience ended in tragedy when the teenager lost his life under circumstances that have left his family devastated and searching for clarity.
According to the father, Joseph Nyanzu, the family was informed of the death, but has since struggled to obtain clear details about what exactly happened on the day his son died.
He says repeated attempts to engage school authorities for a full explanation have yielded little result, deepening the family’s grief and frustration.
The family is calling on the Ghana Education Service and relevant authorities to launch a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Bernard’s death.
