The victim was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service paramedics but sadly died from his injuries five days later

The man charged with the murder of a ‘Bubbly, joyful’ Sidcup man has been named. Police were called around 1am on Monday, 25 May, to reports of an assault outside a pub in Station Road.

Stuart Tickner, 50, was found unconscious at the scene. He was taken to hospital, where he sadly died on Saturday, 30 May. His next-of-kin are aware, and are being supported by specially-trained officers.

On Sunday, 21 June, Liam Burgess, 36 (28.09.1989), of Dovedale Close, Harefield, was charged with murder and possession of a weapon in a public place. He appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 22 June. Burgess has been remanded in custody, ahead of an appearance at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 24 June.

His daughter Megan Tickner previously paid tribute to him on Facebook, saying: “It is with a heavy heart and immense sadness that I am having to share that we lost my Dad on Saturday May 30.

“A week ago, he was unfortunately a victim of a serious assault which left him with head injuries which were so severe he could not recover from them.

“He lit up any room he walked into and was a bubbly, joyful soul. I will cherish the memories of us going to concerts together and singing karaoke.

“I’ll love and miss you always Dad.”
